Killer Defense
Sylwia
McNamara
Considering that
you spend twice as much time defending as declaring, the importance of defense might seem obvious. Yet most bridge
players work much harder on improving their bidding and declarer play than on
learning good defense.
Defense is the
most difficult part of bridge. But it is logical and subject to deductive
reasoning, and it can be improved and learned. Defense often separates the
winners from the whiners.
In this course
players will learn the different defensive strategies, how and when to apply
them, when to shift gears, and how and when to communicate with partner. You
will learn how to work out declarer’s hand as well as partner’s.
The course will include prepared notes, lecture and discussion, and playing
prepared hands.
